HARRISBURG, PA – March 11, 2026 − Today, State Senator James Andrew Malone (D-36, Lancaster) announced the award of $382,246 in funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for Lancaster County and nonprofit organizations in the 36th Senatorial District.
The funding was awarded through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, State Act 80 funds, and the Indigent Defense Grant Program.
The Nonprofit Security Grant Program provides funding for security enhancements to nonprofits at high risk of terror attacks or hate crimes. Act 80 grant funds support counties in treating individuals with substance use disorders in the justice system, while Indigent Defense Grant Program supports public defenders and the defendants who rely on them.
“I’m glad to see Lancaster County and this group of nonprofits receive these grants to help keep our neighbors safe and improve outcomes in the justice system,” said Senator Malone. “This funding will help protect people and support treatments that bring folks back into society. It’s an admirable and worthwhile investment, and I’ll continue to support these programs moving forward.”
The funding awarded in Lancaster County includes:
- $158,427 in State Act 80 funds to the Lancaster County Commissioners for the LCP Medication Assisted Treatment Program.
- $99,931 in FY 2025-26 Indigent Defense Grant Program funds for Lancaster County.
- $24,850 through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to the Congolese Community of Central Pennsylvania for safety and security upgrades.
- $5,226 through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to the Ephrata Public Library for safety and security upgrades.
- $74,500 through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to the Islamic Community Center of Lancaster for safety and security upgrades.
- $19,312 through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to Lancaster County Chooses Love for safety and security upgrades.
