HARRISBURG, PA – January 20, 2026 − Today, State Senator James Andrew Malone (D-36, Lancaster) announced the award of more than $4.95 million in grants for projects in Senate District 36 to improve transportation and upgrade municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
“I came to Harrisburg to listen to my constituents and work on issues that matter to them,” said Senator Malone. “These investments reflect my ongoing work and advocacy to support local municipalities and grant applicants across the district. I’m proud to partner with local leaders in Lancaster and my colleagues in the House to deliver these much-needed investments in our community.”
The following projects in the 36th District received $2,815,233 in grant funding through the CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund:
- Elizabethtown Industrial Railroad was awarded $101,500 to rehabilitate a railroad crossing on Bossler Road located in West Donegal Township
- Marietta Borough was awarded $416,474 for pedestrian and bike safety improvements
- Mount Joy Borough was awarded $742,724 for the installation of speed tables and crosswalk improvements at key intersections in the borough
- Rohrer’s Quarry Inc. was awarded $1,554,535 to relocate and realign S.R. 4022 located in Penn Township
The following projects in the 36th District received $2,142,614 in grant funding through the PA Small Water and Sewer Program:
- Elizabethtown Regional Sewer Authority was awarded $263,498 for a Sewer CCTV Inspection Project
- East Hempfield Township was awarded $412,250 for the Harrisburg Pike Drainageway Improvements
- Ephrata Area Joint Authority was awarded $365,352 for Emergency Generators
- Manheim Area Water and Sewer Authority was awarded $832,637 for the East Mill Street and the South Penn Street Water & Sewer Projects
- Marietta Borough was awarded $268,877 for the Sanitary Sewer Rehab – Basin F (Phase 2)
