Internship Program

An internship opportunity with Senator Malone’s office provides an opportunity for students seeking to learn more about Pennsylvania’s state legislative process as well as serving the constituents of Lancaster County. The internship also provides meaningful experience and skills for those looking to further their interest or career path in Pennsylvania state government and politics while displaying the impacts that local state politics has on everyday life in Lancaster County.

Applications for 2025 fall internship must be received by August 1, 2025.

Internship Program and Procedure:

  • All interns must be 18 years or older, attending a higher education institution, and a United States citizen.
  • Interns may work no more than 30 hours a week allowing them to work over 90 calendar days or 37.5 hours a week allowing them to work less than 90 calendar days.
  • Interns are paid $15.00 an hour or receive academic credit. Academic credit for an internship is set by the school the student attends. My staff and I will work with the intern and school officials to provide relevant information to allow the student to fulfill the requirements of an internship.

Prospective applicants need to submit:

  1. A resume & Cover letter
  2. One letter of recommendation; and,
  3. A short writing sample
